Zoe Marie Gotts


Zoe is a trainee clinical psychologist at Newcastle University. She has research and clinical interests in sleep disorders and persistent physical symptoms (PPS; sometimes referred to as Medically Unexplained Symptoms or Functional Syndromes). Specifically, her work aims to understand the factors related to the maintenance of PPS, and to develop and evaluate non-pharmacological interventions to improve people's quality of life as well as reduce the symptoms.

Zoe graduated from the University of Northumbria in 2008 with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and then went on to complete an MSc in Psychological Research Methods in 2009, and completed her PhD in 2014 entitled "The role of sleep in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome".

Before clinical training, Zoe held post-doctoral position at Newcastle University working in Institute for Ageing and Institute for Health & Society.
